Thinking Differently

I get alot of questions about the why's and how's of couponing and most often I start with, "you gotta think differently."
Why would you buy 20 boxes of pasta?

Let's see. First of all it is FREE. Pasta is on my grocery list often, so since it is FREE now, I am gonna stock up on it. It doesn't expire, so it will definitely last until I use it. Adding this to my grocery stockpile while it is FREE is saving me money because---let's face it people--you'll spend money on it later. We like pasta. I cook it often for my family and for others. It is also something I can donate to my Church's Care Center. This is where we begin to think differently. If it is something you or someone else will use and it is FREE or even cheap, then definitely stock up!

Doesn't that take alot of your time?
At first, yes. But with any skill, I practiced and got better. and it's fun for me. Like a crazy adrenaline rush. Sound silly? maybe. But I LOVE the fact that I am saving my family money and that I can get tons of stuff for just a few dollars and DONATE it to make life just a little bit easier for someone else. THAT is definitely worth my time.
Is it easy?
Well, if it were simple more people would do this but like I said before, the more you practice, the better you get it. You have to decide if you want to learn. You do have to learn...

Do you buy stuff you don't normally use?
Yes. If it is free or cheap. I now use products I probably would have never bought. I used to only shop at Wal-Mart and stuck strictly to Great Value or Equate brand. I've been able to get name brand products and some things would be hard to give up. Like the Gillete Fusion razor. Once you've experienced the smooth legs after shaving with that razor, a disposable simply won't do...
