"I noticed that you had up the Balloon Glow event in Ridgeland on your blog. I just wanted to let you know about the overall event - the Mississippi Championship Hot Air Balloon Fest that might interest your readers with children.
I know that in Ridgeland, parents have to pay for the use of the kids area, but at the part of the festival in Canton on Saturday, July 2nd, the kids area is FREE. They will have lots of space jumps, a magician to entertain the kids and face painting - ALL FREE! The only thing that would cost is if your child wants to do a bungie jump.
Not only is the kids area free, but also families/kids have the opportunity to get up close to the balloons in Canton at the Canton Multi-Purpose Complex, where in Ridgeland the hot air balloons are off limits. Kids can even collect "balloon cards" (like baseball cards) from the pilots of the hot air balloons.
The festival in Canton will also have three special shape balloons. The featured special shape is Patriot -a 190 foot tall Space Shuttle (it is so large that a real space shuttle could fit inside of it). Also, kids (and adults) would enjoy seeing Humpty Dumpty and Jumpin' Jack (in the Box). A full schedule of events, including the Ridgeland Celebrate America Balloon Glow can be seen at the festival website. Each evening, of course, ends with a patriotic fireworks display.
Please let me know if you have any questions! The festival is a fundraiser for The Good Samaritan Center."
