Tax Free Weekend

 

Mississippi is offering one tax free weekend event during 2011. It is scheduled for July 29-30, 2011 and applies to the following purchases:

• Clothing under $100
• Shoes under $100

Alabama's Tax Free Weekend is scheduled for August 5-7, 2011. The tax-free savings applies to the following items:

•Clothing under $100

•School supplies under $50

•Books under $30

•Computers/computer equipment under $750

Louisiana's Sales Tax Holiday for general merchandise is usually scheduled for the first Friday in August through the first Sunday in August. In the past, the tax-free savings applied to the following items:

•Purchases under $2,500

•Excludes the purchase of taxable services, automobiles, and meals
